TOMMY, JUDY AND ME is my 4th album release from Red Lips Records. It's a collection of studio masters and demos that have been unavailable until now. Spanning over 50 years of writing and recordings, the album features the original version of my banned cult-classic "Tommy, Judy and Me" that you heard on the radio in 1980.
My broad range of musical influences include homages to Goffin and King, Lennon and McCartney, and Nilsson; a bow to Broadway’s Lerner and Lowe; a nod to Arlen; deep respect for Dylan; and the humor of Randy Newman. This mixed bag of inspirations is reflected in my diverse and unique writing style so evident in the songs on my latest release TOMMY, JUDY AND ME +23 For The Record and throughout my long career. Whether it’s the disco smash "SINNER MAN" for Sarah Dash, my banned cult-classic "TOMMY, JUDY and ME," the witty "DO IT FOR OUR COUNTRY" featured in the movie GREASE 2, or the top 20 Air Supply and #1 L.U.S.T. reggae hit, "JUST AS I AM," I have never written the same song twice.
As a staff songwriter for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame legend, Don Kirshner, I wrote songs for several of his television projects including Norman Lear's "A Year At The Top" starring Mickey Rooney and Paul Shaffer, and Alan Landsburg's wonderful Saturday morning show "The Kids From C.A.P.E.R." My credits also include the theme songs for the TV pilots "Say Uncle" and "Stick Around" (starring Andy Kaufman) and "Don Kirshner's Rock Concert".
